If you know the classic Battleship, you already know the idea — Naval Combat is TableTop's original take on the same style of game, free to play online.
Hide a fleet of five ships on your 10×10 grid, then trade shots with the enemy admiral. Call your squares, watch for the splash or the explosion, and sink all five enemy ships before yours go down.

How to play Naval Combat
Deploying your fleet
- You command five ships: Carrier (5), Battleship (4), Cruiser (3), Submarine (3) and Destroyer (2 squares).
- Click a ship to select it, click a square to move it there, and use Rotate to turn it. Shuffle deals a fresh random layout.
- Ships can touch but never overlap. When the layout feels right, hit Ready — you can’t move ships once the battle starts.
The battle
- On your turn, click a square on the enemy radar to take aim, then press Fire.
- A splash means miss; an explosion means you hit part of a ship.
- Hit every square of a ship and it’s sunk — the wreck is revealed on your radar.
- With the default setting a hit earns you another shot immediately; the lobby can switch to strict alternating turns.
Winning
- The first admiral to sink all five enemy ships wins the battle.
- The fleet panels track which ships are still afloat on each side — use them to hunt what’s left.
